About the Foundation

The SCHENECTADY foundation was established in 1962 as a philanthropic trust designed to meet pressing community needs. Income from the investment of assets contributed through estate plans is used strategically to make grants that help Schenectady area non-profit organizations serve people in need.

The mission of The Schenectady Foundation is to achieve sustainable improvement in the health and welfare of people, organizations and neighborhoods in Schenectady County through the investment of philanthropic resources.
