Employment Opportunities

The Schenectady Foundation is a leading institution in the regional social sector.  We are a nimble, streamlined organization with a small but highly engaged and motivated staff.  We maintain a high degree of integrity, accountability and ethical standards, and expect all our employees to embrace and demonstrate these values every day.

We are currently seeking candidates for the following positions:

Program Associate

The Program Associate is primarily responsible for oversight and management of the Foundation's grant programs, maintenance of our online grant application system, and support of the Foundation's community initiatives such as the Call to Action for Schenectady's Youth.  The Program Associate also researches best practices in community partnerships and programs, and guides grantees in their reporting on program outcomes.  This is a full-time, exempt position.

Advancement Associate

The Advancement Associate is a newly established full-time, exempt position.  The primary responsibility is to organize and manage the fundraising and development functions of the Foundation to support our aspirations for greater community impact and donor satisfaction.  The Advancement Associate works with the Executive Director and Board to promote and acquire gifts from individuals, corporations and both private and public sources.  A main component of our development program is to obtain gifts through wills and estate plans.

STEM Alliance Coordinator

The Foundation has recently formed a table of stakeholders interested in improving the transparency of STEM education and career opportunities, and to provide access to these opportunities for more youths in Schenectady.  We seek a coordinator for this initiative who is well-organized, a strong facilitator, and able to guide a group process.  Familiarity with the STEM field is desirable.  This is a part-time position -- approximately 8 to 10 hours per week.
