Our youth need supportive adult allies -- mentors, guides and advocates who can help them realize their potential. Volunteers are needed for one-to-one mentoring, to assist with civic engagement projects, and to provide job shadowing or internship opportunities.

GradNation Comes to Schenectady
The momentum of Call to Action caught the attention of an exciting national resource. Schenectady is one of only five cities in the state selected as a community summit host by America’s Promise Alliance and its GradNation initiative. General Colin Powell was founding chairman of America’s Promise. Today, it is the nation’s largest multi-sector alliance focused on the well-being of young people.
The GradNation initiative was launched in 2010 with a goal to achieve a nationwide high school graduation rate of 90% by 2020. And we are intent on doing that in Schenectady County!
