The Schenectady Foundation was named the 2011 “Internships in Aging Funder of the Year” by the University at Albany. The award recognizes a funder for its commitment to improving and promoting education for MSW students working with older adults and their families. “The Schenectady Foundation grant has been critical in allowing our Internships in Aging Project to expand into Schenectady County and to develop some exciting internship opportunities for students which support the aging in place of Schenectady County residents,” wrote Katharine Briar Lawson, Ph.D., dean, School of Social Welfare. TSF Executive Director Robert Carreau said: “The Foundation is grateful for the recognition. Supporting Internships in Aging is an important part of our ongoing work to strengthen families through all stages of their lives.”
