Scholarships

The Schenectady Foundation has a longstanding commitment to helping area students attain their dream of a college education.
Anna Hudson Erbacher Scholarships
Thanks to a generous gift to the Foundation from John Erbacher in memory of his wife, Anna - a passionate and dedicated teacher -- The Schenectady Foundation offers a scholarship to graduating seniors of Schenectady County high schools who intend to pursue teaching careers. Today, more than 40 years since her death, Anna Hudson Erbacher continues to make a difference in the lives of young people who share her commitment to teaching. Two Erbacher Scholarships are awarded annually.
Sponsor-A-Scholar
TSF has given multi-year, substantial support to Sponsor-A-Scholar (SAS) at Schenectady High School. SAS provides economically disadvantaged students with emotional and academic support and one-on-one mentoring. Students are selected for the program after completing ninth grade and guaranteed a college scholarship if they stay in the program and attend college. Recent SAS participants have been accepted to, among others schools, Brown, Cornell, Colgate, Hamilton, RIT, Skidmore, Hobart, Siena, Union and HVCC.
Union College Scholarships
The Foundation has also awarded generous scholarships to help qualified Schenectady students attend prestigious Union College – Schenectady's own academic jewel. Students were selected based on academic record, commitment to community service and demonstrated financial need.
