Arthur H. Lauder

Arthur Lauder was a GE engineer and a pioneer in the use of large computers to design electrical machinery. After graduating from the University of Wyoming in 1922 with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, he worked for the Wyoming State Engineering Department and the city of Laramie, Wyoming.

Lauder joined GE in 1923, and became a design engineer in the Large Motor & Generator Department. He became supervisor of the unit in 1942. During this period his work earned GE's highest honor: the Charles E. Coffin Award, in 1938. He was awarded eight patents and was the author of several papers for the technical press and articles for trade journals.

Lauder retired in 1964. His wife, the former Josephine Laurenzo, died in February 1985. Lauder passed away six months later, on August 22, 1985.

His Memorial Fund's original value was $52,987. The Fund's value as of 12/31/2004 was $121,503.
