Patrick J. Garey

Patrick J. Garey was a 1920 graduate of Syracuse University, where he was a founder of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He had joined the General Electric Company's training program in 1920, and held a variety of position with the International GE Co., including manager of visitor relations and administration and commercial vice president. He served on special assignment at the company's Washington DC office during World War II. Garey retired from GE in 1961. He died in 1994 at the age of 97. His wife, Helen Carroll Garey, had died three years earlier. Gary left 15% of his residual estate to The Schenectady Foundation, without any restrictions as to its use.
