Schenectady County Food Council

The Schenectady Foundation is proud to have established the Schenectady County Food Council. The Schenectady County Food Council is a collaborative network of residents, organizations, farmers, and institutions working to strengthen the local food system.

Supported by The Schenectady Foundation, the Food Council brings together community voices and expertise to:

·         Identify barriers to food access

·         Develop solutions that reflect community priorities

·         Support advocacy and policy change

·         Strengthen partnerships across the food system

The Council focuses on several key areas including food access, agriculture, and community advocacy, ensuring that solutions are informed by both data and lived experience.
